A not-for-profit association for eBay Sellers - IMA (Internet Merchants Association)

There’s a new not-for-profit association in town that is focused on providing useful business information to members as well as helping members navigate ebay and multi-channel selling.

Currently the members are exchanging ideas via an eBay group, but have grand plans for a website, conferences and more. If you’re an eBay seller looking to meet other folks and share best practices, I urge you to apply. Personally, I’ve been a big supporter of this concept for a long time, but haven’t seen it executed as well as IMA.

There are already lots of eBay Strategies readers actively participating and I’ve been enjoying the discussions as well.

Here’s the description and suggested qualifications (if you don’t meet, go ahead and apply as they evaluate each application and have made special exceptions to the rules. For example, the feedback % is more subjective.)

The Internet Merchants Association (IMA) is a not for profit trade association and home of some of the foremost merchants on eBay. The Association was set up to provide its members with a forum for exchange of ideas, to build upon each other’s best business practices, and to have a unique presence on eBay, where buyers of members’ items can know for certain that IMA members adhere to those best business practices.

It is generally understood that sellers applying for membership will meet all of the below minimum requirements, however If you don’t qualify based on the requirements but feel you can to add to this group feel free to apply for membership anyway as all applications are brought forth to the membership committee for review.

• 3000 minimum feedback rating
• 98.9% rating
• 1500+ positive in past 6 months
• $10,000 GMV per month
