eBay UK has new challenger - Tazbar
James Scott from our UK office reports on Tazbar over at the ChannelAdvisor corporate blog. Their TV ads are good and the site looks clean. Most importantly to sellers, listings are free - the game-changer that TaoBao and gmarket (and Y! Japan) used in Asia to oust eBay before they got a foothold. In the UK, though is it too late?
Blogging stocks has a good article with more details on Tazbar.
Speaking of TV ads, someone has uploaded the UK ebay ads that features the mysterious "rainbow people" mentioned here previously.
I think this has been heavily mixed, but you get the general idea. They talk to each other and stuff. Kind of weird.
Bottom line: Competition is always good and the jury is out on the Rainbow People.
The first thing I did was register for Tazbar. They showed the adverts over the Christmas period too. Once they have an api....look out eBay!
