New eBay TV ads online!

You can check out the latest three eBay (US) TV ads here.

These are running in very heavy rotation right now.  I always work and watch TV, so I've  missed them because by the time they say "ebay", the ads over.  Here's my take:

1. (15 secs) Man on a bus with IT watch - dude falls asleep, wakes up and has IT imprinted on his face.  Turns over watch with big IT on face.  C - doesn't get message across

2. (15 secs) Border collie with Shoe IT - Dog walking walking walking, lady looking for shoe. Dog drops shoe (in shape of I), lady puts on feet, angle down, IT shoes.   A+ (I have a border collie so this hits home for me.)

3. (60 secs) IT ring - lady drops ring down drain, goes to ocean (past people with IT stuff - Furbie, naked guy with IT guitar (!?!?), ).  Fish eats.  Months later, couple eats fish, ring is in fish.  B - I like the story on this one, but I've seen it maybe 50 times already.

The IT campaigns drove lots of traffic last year, I'm optimistic they will work again this year.

The IT campaign is old and decrepit (Gee just like the platform that eBay is on). It shows the definate lack of innovation and imagination that runs rampant at eBay. You can only beat a dead horse so many times until the carcass starts to stink.
