Rumor: Rob Chesnut MIA? (file under brain drain)

UPDATE: Heard from Rob this evening. He is just on sabbatical this summer and will a) be at eBay Live and b) back in the Fall (phew!)

So file this one under "Brain recharge vs. drain"

There's a rumor circulating in the eBay community that Rob
Chesnut has left/is leaving eBay.  If true, it would be a major bummer as Rob+team have seriously cranked up the efforts to thwart the bad guys on eBay and it seems to be having some impact.

Can anyone confirm/deny this one?  I wonder where a guru of online fraud would go... hmmm.

please read my story and understand better what is trust &safety on ebay. I am not bad guy. but they are tasrgeting not only bad guys they are targeting honest best sellers. read it.

Latest events force me to write this letter.
My ebay name is checkers64. I was a power seller for 5.5 years since
2002. i am a loyal Representative and have loved ebay and it became
as a part of my business..
For the last two years Trust & SAFETY has been keeping an eye on
what i am selling.
All this period they were blocking some of my items for 7 days
period. it was mostly luxury brands that i was selling and they know they
are 100 % authentic. besides luxury brands they blocked other items
that i can not describe as a luxury.
7 months ago they closed my account and then in short period my
account was reinstated. but i did not hear apology . nothing. here is a

Last 2 months Trust & Safety was blocking my items for 7
days period that was lasting over than 2 months . It was getting on my
nerves. They have provoked me by their action and i sent them not
friendly letter. where i called them Untrust & Unsafety department that
targeting me over than 2 years. 3 weeks ago they simply closed my
account as Abusing Ebay.
But i did not abuse Ebay.! This department is just part of
Ebay . I am part of Ebay as well. Then this team gave to PayPal
knowingly false information about me , where they clearly stated i am selling
fakes,, replicas and i have my website with replicas items. Its
not the truth !
Mr Jacobson i want to open your eyes what is going on here
behind the scenes.
I did not get a profit for august because they keep targeting me and i
was not able relist, list, revice my items for all month. so i lost
my money . i paid fee over $440 and my total selling was $1200. what
this team did next. they have seen i sold 4 expensive items for 3 days
and they understood its good time for action. they simply closed my
account September 4 as Abusing Ebay !! they showed all of us who are these
people !! they using dirt tricks to treat sellers. if i am selling
fakes , replicas why they did not close it as violation because they know
i am selling authentic items and they did not find another reason to
close my account. Why these people still on Ebay ?? they are black
mark on Ebay. !! they bring just harm and problems but not safety. many
fakes still on Ebay and they are touching sellers who sell real goods .
its nonsense !! Lets face it !!English is not my native language and i
can not express much more my feeling how deeply i am hurt an!
d disapointed that trust & safety team did to me.
They know how important christmas time for sellers and they closed my
account when business just started and i can sell out my items. they
did it all just for spite !!
I can not understand how all team can cheat people. They are
dishonest people !! Department Trust & Safety is the Team of the Evil !
They try to abase me at all show us who is a host here. But i can not
understand the point MARKETING DEPARTMENT IS SEEKING TO ATTRACT MORE
SELLERS TO eBAY AND ANOTHER dEPARTMENT SUCH AS tRUS AND SAFETY TARGETING
ON POWER SELLERS AND CLOSE THEIR ACCOUNT. HOW IT ALL POSSIBLE? EBAY

Why my business on ebay depends on arrogant people who can remove
any time any item without violation and without powerful reason. and
they remove all items.
They are targeting , hunting me for last 2 years. I am power
seller with 4040 score 99.8 % and my feedback speaking itself. It gets
me how they treat me.
Mr Jacobson please stop them to targeting sellers !!
I was learning a market for several years to find sale-able goods
that will be in demand on Ebay and i found what i wanted and borrowed
a credit in my bank and bought luxury brands to sell them on Ebay and
they closed my account without violation. I am losing my money every
day because i need to pay for my credit and my goods not moving.
I am not young man and I am under stress last 2 years and my
health was checked by my doctor . I want to show you Accredited medical
conclusion . I can prove my diagnose came from Trust & safety
DEPARTMENT FROM PEOPLE THAT DON'T know what is compassion, condolence,
conscience, compromise, kindness . Apparently these words are foreign to
them. but they know how to hurt sellers badly , how to make a command
to Paypal and many others negative aspects that i have felt from
them.
i am dealing every day with different people and from different ebays
departments. Mostly of them very pleasant, friendly, helpful, kind
people. just Trust & Safety is the most unjust arrogant, soulless
unit with despotism mixed with Bureaucracy.
they are here to get on our sellers nerves.
It seems to me they are not people . maybe they are robots??!! I can
not believe there are such terrible people in USA. I simply never met
or dealt with people like Trust and Safety team before.
You know Mr. Jacobson what people saying about Trust & Safety around
the world? you can read it on Google.
All these create an environment where impunity is supported,
where people feel free to target, hunt, press because they don’t
believe anybody will seriously do anything ...
Mr Jacobson could you break up this team and hire another one who
will be closer to Ebayers problem, team who will be helpful,
effective and bring positive emotion to Ebay society. Team that never will
target and hunt people without powerful reason !
Mr Jacobson please do it !! We all say thank you !! please get rid us
/sellers/ from such arrogant unpleasant team . Team that acting beyond
of their duties. They shouldn't"t get away with it. Mr Jacobson help
me , help us !! my letter is Cry of the Soul !!
