How Amazon develops 'products'/offerings...

Over on sister-blog, Amazon Strategies, we just posted an article that details how Amazon releases new offerings and then we give a list of the offerings of interest to retailers like Prime, Merchants@ and where they are in that framework.  A useful way for retailers to think about Amazon and track what's going on over there.

I know you guys are hungry for some good eBay stuff, some blog posts are coming this week around:
  • The dreaded call - The unintended consequences of PayPal's bump up in reserves
  • PESA conference thoughts - eBay sellers do not 'heart' Free Shipping
  • eBay Variations/ Multi-sku - This is the biggest change to hit eBay in 2009 IMHO.  We'll be covering lots of the nuances here shortly as this goes live on 6/15.  Until then, here's a teaser for you (this is a link to one of the first multi-sku listings created by ChannelAdvisor's software).
Stay tuned!

I think ebay hopes we dont see what they're doing. They're repeating the same procedure they did when they started in summer 2006 turning the screws on us. They kept us all busy jumping through hoops and reacting. So much no one could stop the greased tracks of the freight train coming at us. So now they are doing the same darn thing with paypal. All these subtle changes, all these cryptic incomplete policy changes. They do it because they feel confident they can get away with it. I stopped a very long time ago thinking ebay was working with me. They just want to keep you leashed so you never go outside
